Day 22 - Yellowstone- Lamar Valley & the Lake Yellowstone Hotel

On Sunday, we decided to travel out the northeast corner of the park, look for more wildlife and see the sights.
This is the view near Tower of the Yellowstone River.
The the in the columnar basalt (ask Bob)

New state, Montana!!

We hit a little mining town with a really nice museum.  Very interactive for a place in the middle of nowhere.

We then headed back into the park and stopped to see if the wolves were out near there den, and sure enough they were.  Here is a really bad picture through the scope.  It you enlarge you can see a little gray spot...that was the wolf.

We ended the day at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel, listening to the Lake String Quartet play music, everything from classical, Beetles, hoe-down, to the Harry Potter theme song.  The Hotel was celebrating its 125th  anniversary.  This is a great place to relax after a long day, very elegant.
