Day 11 - Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde is in the southwest corner of Colorado.  It is where Indian tribes live over a thousand years ago.  Initially, they lived on top of the Mesa, but eventually they moved over the edges on the cliffs.

Our first tour was to Balcony House.  The National Park Service warns visitors that this is the most aggressive hike in the park; not because of the length or rigor, but because of the heights.  If you have fear of heights, you probably shouldn't go.  Sara and Dee both are not comfortable, but go anyway.

Climbing a 32 foot ladder to get into the ruins was scary (but fun).

And look another ladder

I think Sara wasn't appreciating us at this moment.

We went to other ruins throughout the day

Sun Temple

Cliff Palace from across the way

The last tour was of Cliff Palace, the largest of the dwellings.  This hike waas a piece of cake in comparison
